We offer Carnatic guitar lessons to children and adults. The minimum age is 6. Vocal is also taught along with the lessons. Students learn the music on an acoustic or electric guitar. They are taught fingering techniques along with raga and tala as in any Carnatic instrument. The guitar is very melodious and sounds like the veena. It feels light on the fingers, is easy to purchase, and is very portable.

How do I buy a guitar?
You can buy an acoustic cutaway or electric guitar. Just make sure to request the salesperson to check that all the frets play properly.
What else do I need?
You would need tuner, metronome and a three ring binder with sheet protectors to hold music notes. Bring the binder to every class.
